If you are a parent, spouse, or child of a  member of the U.S. Military, you may be eligible to apply for a green-card without leaving the country.

Parole in Place (PIP) allows a foreign national who has entered the United States without authorization to stay in the country for a limited time, under certain circumstances. This program is granted on a case-by-case basis, and only for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit. PIP is recognized as a legal immigration status, which means that individuals who are granted PIP may be eligible for certain immigration benefits, such as green card.

What is Parole in Place?

The applicant must be the spouse, widow(er), parent, or child of:

  • An active duty member of the U.S. Armed Forces;

  • A member of the Selected Reserve of the Ready Reserve; or

  • A military veteran (living or deceased) who has served on active duty or in the Selected Reserve of the Ready Reserve.
